Microneedling & Nanoneedling

Microneedling creates micro channels in the skin to promote the body's natural healing process and increase collagen and elastin production. It targets fine lines, scars, sun damage, texture, and tone. Microneedling works at a much faster speed and covering more surface area to focus on the skin itself. Cosmetic Acupuncture works on the muscles underneath the skin to tone and lift. Microneedling can also be used on the scalp for hair rejuvenation or on the body to address cellulite, scars, texture, and stretch marks.

Microneedling requires 2-3 days of down time AKA redness. It creates long lasting change through the deeper layers of the skin. Have a big event, photoshoot, or holiday party? Nanoneedling might be the option for you! Nanoneedling works superficially on the top layer of the skin. It requires no down time or numbing cream. It draws up hydration to the surface to temporarily plump, tighten, smooth, and firm. Nanoneedling can also make scars and hyperpigmentation appear less noticeable. It is a great stand alone treatment but can also be added on to Cosmetic Acupuncture treatments.

Microneedling and Nanoneedling appointments can not be booked online. Please call or email to book an appointment for this service.

What to expect…

Both microneedling and nanoneedling begin with cleansing the skin. Microneedling requires a numbing agent to be applied prior to treatment. Hyaluronic acid and peptides are applied to each section of the skin being treated to aid in a more effective and comfortable treatment. The procedure is fairly pain-free but the patient can expect to feel more sensation around the hair line and forehead. Appropriate needle depths and pen speeds are chosen for different areas being treated. Nanoneedling requires no downtown. After microneedling, the skin will appear red and flushed post treatment similar to a moderate sunburn. There will be skin tightness and mild sensitivity that will diminish in a few hours and over the next 24 to 36 hours. Patients are able to return to work and resume their daily activities right after the treatment. Most microneedling patients see the best results with 3 to 6 treatments spaced out every 4 to 6 weeks. Nanoneedling can be done every 2 weeks. Results and time frame vary depending on condition and area being treated.

Microneedling Pre-Treatment Cautions:

No Retin-A products or strong peels one week prior. Do not shave the day of the procedure. No laser or photo facials one week prior to the treatment. Please avoid extreme sun exposure 24 hours before the treatment.

Post-Treatment Care:

Specific post-treatment protocols will be discussed and given to each patient based on their specific needs and area of treatment.
